Why Harvey

At Harvey, we’re transforming how legal and professional services operate. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.

This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. We have strong product-market fit and world-class investor support. We’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.

Our team moves fast, takes ownership, and is deeply committed to the mission — operating with intensity, staying close to our customers, and pushing each other for excellence. We live by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We act quickly on clear judgment over perfect information, we believe simplicity is what scales, and we're never satisfied with where we are. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who share that drive, we'd love to build with you.

At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.

Role Overview

Harvey is hiring a Video Editor & Shooter to create compelling, finished video for our content

and social channels. Editing and social storytelling are the core of this role. You’ll find the story

in footage, bring strong editorial recommendations, and own edits from selects through final

delivery. You’ll also shoot executive content, interviews, events, and other planned capture.

You’ll be one of the first two hires in a dedicated Content & Social (C&S) creative pod, alongside

its creative lead. The role sits within the Harvey Creative Studio (HCS) for creative leadership,

craft, and brand standards, with the C&S roadmap determining workload and priorities. Broader

HCS projects are staffed separately.

You’ll work directly with C&S leads from briefing through delivery and with the pod’s creative
lead on narrative and editorial direction. The creative lead retains overall narrative responsibility
and accountability for the work through delivery. You own the editing craft and delivery of
finished assets within that direction.

The Work You Will Support
The initial planning mix for the pod includes:

  • Supporting 1–3 recurring series each month, including executive content.
  • Covering 2–3 events per month and turning captured footage into content for our
    channels.
  • Producing product videos with Product Marketing and relevant HCS teams, including
an ongoing cadence of feature videos, explainers, use cases, and demonstrations
    beyond launch.
Recurring series generally have longer planning cycles. Event and product launch work often
needs a turnaround of one to two weeks. The creative lead and C&S agree the pod’s workload and resourcing upfront, including deliverables, capture, editing time, and reviews.
For product launches, this pod owns the content and social assets on its roadmap. Larger
campaign and demo productions remain with the relevant HCS teams, with messaging, footage, and delivery handoffs coordinated upfront.

What You'll Do

Editing and Social Storytelling

  • Own edits from footage review and selects through finished assets ready for each
platform, using footage you capture and material supplied by other teams.
  • Find the story in interviews, event footage, and product content. Recommend hooks,
structure, pacing, and cutdowns that deliver the message and fit the audience and
    channel.
  • Finish videos with captions, on-screen text, basic graphics, music, sound design, audio
mixing, and color correction. Deliver the required aspect ratios and channel versions.
  • Build and refine recurring formats with the creative lead and C&S. Use audience
response and available performance insights to recommend editorial improvements.
  • Manage versions and feedback through final export, checking message clarity, caption
accuracy, picture, sound, and platform specifications.
    Shooting and Planned Capture
  • Shoot executive content, interviews, events, and other capture planned on the C&S
roadmap, with reliable camera, lighting, and audio setups.
  • Translate the brief and creative direction into practical capture plans and shot lists.
Capture the coverage needed for the planned edits and channel versions.
  • Help executives and other non-professional talent feel comfortable on camera, working
from the creative lead’s direction and agreed interview approach.
  • Coordinate capture and editing time with the creative lead and production support,
raising resource needs early so planned shoots and finished asset delivery are both
    covered.

Collaboration and Delivery

  • Work day to day with C&S leads and the pod’s creative lead to confirm the message,
audience, channel, deliverables, and timing before work begins.
  • Follow the approval model: C&S owns content and platform fit; HCS owns creative
execution, craft, and brand standards. Incorporate both sets of feedback into the final
    assets.
  • Collaborate with copywriting support, when assigned, on scripts, interview preparation,
and paper edits, with the creative lead retaining overall narrative ownership.
  • Partner with [named production owner to confirm], who owns scheduling, vendors,
budgets, and shoot logistics. Provide capture requirements and flag capacity conflicts
    so editing time is protected.
    Media and Equipment
  • Maintain organized project files, footage backups, templates, LUTs, export presets, and
reusable assets so edits and handoffs move efficiently.
  • Keep the camera, lighting, and audio kit used for your shoots organized and ready.
Handle routine setup and care, and flag repair, rental, or additional crew needs to the
    production owner.

What You Have

  • 5+ years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio showing consistent
    delivery of strong social content.
  • Strong editing skills in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, including captions, basic
graphics, color correction, audio mixing, and exports for different channels.
  • Strong editorial judgment: you can find a clear story in footage and explain your
recommendations on hooks, pacing, structure, and format.
  • Experience developing or improving recurring social formats and using audience
response to inform the next edit.
  • Hands-on shooting skills for interviews, executive content, and events, including
camera, lighting, and audio, with a calm approach to non-professional talent.
  • Experience balancing planned programming with shorter production timelines,
managing feedback, and delivering finished work on schedule.
  • Clear communication, reliable media organization, and the judgment to raise scope or
capacity issues early. Flexibility for planned event coverage, travel, and occasional
    early or late shoots.

Nice to Have

  • Experience on a dedicated content or social team at a technology, SaaS, or B2B
    company.
  • Experience editing product demonstrations, screen recordings, explainers, or use-case
    videos.
  • Interest in AI, the legal industry, and making complex products understandable through
    video.

Compensation
