Hiring Unit : Department of Geography Position Summary: Assist with lab research and collecting data from the following tasks: Preparation (drying, weighing and grinding) of soil samples for measurement of carbon content, stable isotope analyses and radiometric dating to determine rates of carbon sequestration May assist with subsampling from cores, use of a muffle furnace, measurement using a pXRF or gas chromatograph Assist with data entry and analysis Assist with preparing materials to be used in field experiments Assist with lab organization, maintenance and obtaining supplies Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities: Must have eye for detail Ability to communicate in English Familiarity with Excel Experience and Education : Preferred to be an undergraduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Science
