Strategist - Droga5 Sydney

Accenture — Sydney International House 3 Sussex St

Posted 2026-11-06

About the role

As a Strategist at Droga5 Sydney, you'll help shape the thinking behind some of Australia's most distinctive and effective creative work.

You'll work across brand, creative and communications strategy, turning audience, cultural and category insights into clear strategic direction and inspiring creative briefs. You'll partner closely with creative, business management, media and senior strategy colleagues, while taking ownership of your own projects and building trusted relationships with clients.

We're looking for someone who knows how to get beneath the surface of a brief, uncover a meaningful human or cultural insight and turn it into a strategy that gives creative teams something powerful to build from.

What you'll do

Strategy & Insights

  • Lead the development of brand, creative and communications strategies across a range of clients.
  • Dig into audiences, culture, categories and competitors to uncover meaningful insights and opportunities.
  • Turn complex research and data into simple, compelling strategic narratives.
  • Use tools such as Big Datr, Meltwater and Roy Morgan to bring rigour to strategic thinking.
  • Stay close to shifts in culture, consumer behaviour, social media and technology, and understand what they mean for brands.
  • Help define positioning, audience strategy and communications frameworks that translate into great creative work.

Creative Strategy

  • Write sharp, inspiring creative briefs that give creative teams a genuine springboard.
  • Be an active strategic partner to creatives throughout the development process, not just at briefing stage.
  • Champion work that is both creatively ambitious and strategically grounded.
  • Bring an effectiveness mindset to the work, connecting creative thinking back to meaningful brand and business outcomes.
  • Help evaluate ideas against the strategic opportunity while protecting the creative ambition of the work.

Client & Team Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with clients and become a trusted strategic voice within your accounts.
  • Lead and contribute to client briefings, stakeholder interviews, workshops and strategy presentations.
  • Work closely with creative, media, production and business management teams to bring integrated thinking to client challenges.
  • Collaborate with platform and technology partners including Spotify, TikTok, Meta and Google.
  • Contribute strategic thinking to new business pitches, proactive opportunities and effectiveness or award submissions.

What you'll bring

  • Around 4+ years' strategy experience, ideally within a creative, advertising or closely related agency environment.
  • Strong experience developing brand, creative and communications strategy.
  • The ability to move confidently from research and audience insights through to a clear strategic proposition and creative brief.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behaviour, culture and how brands can meaningfully participate in both.
  • Confidence presenting strategic thinking and recommendations to clients.
  • A genuine love of creativity and an understanding of what makes advertising effective.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complicated thinking feel simple.
  • Collaborative instincts and the ability to work effectively alongside creatives, account teams, media partners and senior strategists.
  • Curiosity. You should be someone who notices what's happening in culture and wants to understand why.

What's in it for you?

You'll join the Droga5 Sydney Strategy team and work alongside some of the best creative and strategic talent in the industry.

You'll have access to world-class creative, media and production capabilities, opportunities for internal and external development, and the broader benefits available through Accenture. The existing Sydney team operates on a hybrid model with three days in the Barangaroo office and two days working from home.
