LunaDb is Asana’s core reactive data loading platform, powering our GraphQL-like query model to deliver instantaneous updates across web, mobile, and external API platforms at a scale of billions of daily queries. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Data Loading Infrastructure team, you will lead the next chapter of LunaDb by driving stack modernization, challenging architectural assumptions, and building dependable, highly available distributed services. You will set technical direction, improve workload isolation and query performance, and partner closely with product engineering teams to ensure Asana remains fast, reliable, and scalable as we expand platform capabilities. This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner.
