We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join Accenture and work on modern data platforms for international clients.
You will spend most of your time designing, developing and improving data pipelines, data transformations and data models. Depending on the project, you may work with different cloud platforms, data technologies and architectural patterns — so we are not looking for expertise in one specific technology stack.
What matters to us is strong data engineering experience, solid engineering fundamentals and the ability to understand a data problem and turn it into a reliable, scalable solution.
You will work alongside other Data Engineers, Data Architects, Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts, contributing directly to the technical implementation of data solutions.
YOUR MISSION
• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and data processing solutions
• Build ingestion and transformation processes for batch and/or streaming data
• Work with structured and semi-structured data from different source systems
• Design and implement data models suitable for analytics, reporting, data science and AI use cases
• Write and optimize SQL and Python code used for data transformation, processing and automation
• Work with modern cloud data platforms and technologies — the exact stack will depend on the project
• Improve performance, reliability and maintainability of existing data pipelines and data platforms
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, logging and error-handling mechanisms
• Apply software engineering practices such as version control, automated testing, CI/CD and infrastructure automation to data solutions
• Investigate data issues and troubleshoot pipelines across different layers of the data platform
• Work with Data Architects and other engineers on technical design and implementation decisions
• Review code and share engineering practices with other members of the team
• Explore new technologies and engineering approaches where they can improve the solution

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to role, level, location, effort, responsibility, skillset, and level of experience. The range of base pay for this role is 2 050€ - 4 050€.
WHO YOU ARE
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or a closely related engineering role
• Strong practical experience with SQL
• Practical programming experience with Python or another language commonly used for data processing
• Experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions
• Understanding of data modelling concepts and analytical data architectures
• Experience with at least one major cloud or modern data platform, for example Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake or a comparable technology
• Experience with at least one orchestration, transformation or data integration technology such as Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Informatica, Talend, SSIS or similar
• Understanding of distributed data processing and modern data platform concepts
• Experience with Git and basic CI/CD / DevOps practices
• Ability to troubleshoot data pipelines, identify performance bottlenecks and improve existing solutions
• Ability to work independently on technical tasks while collaborating with engineers, architects and other project team members
• English proficiency (B2 or higher); German language knowledge is a plus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field
Nice to have:
• Experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Business Objects)
