Topics include real estate economics, legal principles, valuation, property management and the processes of buying, selling and leasing. The course also covers investment structures, development, urban planning, public policy and real estate investment trusts (REITs). Emphasis is placed on how real estate differs from other asset classes, with topics including appraisal, zoning, taxation and government involvement. A variety of property types, including residential, commercial and industrial, are examined.
